Heaven knows, almost the last thing the world needs is another blogger spouting off about “life, the universe and everything,” in Douglas Adams’ very apt phrase. Nonetheless, here we are: you who are browsing the blogs for some interesting reading matter, and I who can’t resist writing now and then about what interests me.

If the word “eclectic” makes you cringe or if you’re hoping for something that will immediately change your life for the better, this is no place to linger. If the idea of a curmudgeonly editor rambling on about things she’s read that made her think seems like a waste of time, perhaps you need to move on.

But if you’re the kind of person who is interested in many things and doesn’t mind a little digression, what begins here as my monologue could become a civilized conversation that both of us might enjoy.

Bienvenue, mes lecteurs francophones.
